Function
In order to learn a new skillset, it is imperative to learn the mechanisms of how things work. In this case, in order to have deep level of understanding and appreciating the importance of mindfulness and how to apply it in a movement setting, you need to understand its effect on the nervous system, including mental and emotional health.
We start the course by covering neuroscience basics of mindfulness before going further into application.
Context
Next, you learn how you can identify when it is particularly important to incorporate mindfulness in a person’s movement session. You will learn how mindfulness can support a wide range of functions including stress management, sense of well being, sleep, quality of life, and much more!
Application
Lastly, you’ll learn how to apply the information in order to effectively and repeatedly benefit you and your clients. You’ll have a variety of ways to support mindfulness in a movement setting and beyond. Finish the course able to reap the profound benefits of mindfulness, supported by neuroscience research and thousands of years of human experience. And no, it is not necessary to do sitting meditations unless you would like to!
The benefits of mindfulness is irrefutable from a research stand point but many people associate mindfulness with sitting meditations. This isn’t everybody’s preferred way of practicing mindfulness.
