Hi, I’m Kate.

Hi, I’m Kate. I am an international continuing education presenter and movement coach with over 20 years of experience specialized in neuroscience as it relates to human movement. My work has supported people ranging from 8 to 96 years of age, all gender identities, body shapes and sizes, and levels of experience. From people who have never exercised before to professional level athletes and everyone in between, my work is customized to the person I am working with..

I have a Masters in Applied Neuroscience from King’s College London and have dedicated my career, since 2004, in studying and applying neuroscience to movement training to help clients exceed their goals and professionals sharpen and develop their skills. My movement education background includes Pilates, Oov, athletics, dance, yoga, Gyrotonic®, Capoeira, and functional strength training. My bodywork/massage therapy background has been focused on myofascial release (John Barnes) and cranial sacral therapy (Upledger). I combine my extensive background and experience in a unique way that supports the people who I work with.

I have a deep passion and curiosity for my work which drives me to continue learning.

I strive to find a balance between evidence and science supported along with real life application in my work.

I am committed to supporting students and other movement professionals in their educational endeavors through my personal continuing education offerings and through my work as a faculty member of Polestar Pilates, Oov Education, and The Center for Women’s Fitness. I foster a collaborative environment conducive to meaningful education. My priority is to encourage critical reasoning, questioning, and curiosity in any of my professional education offerings.

  • COURSE TESTIMONIALS

“This is one of the best courses I've taken. So many on-line courses are non-participatory lecture. This included clear, unrushed, practical movement experiences. Also - Kate's delivery and pacing gave time to absorb the material. Thank you!”

  • COURSE TESTIMONIALS

“Thoroughly enjoyed your workshop! You took such complicated material and made it relatable. I also enjoyed the movement breaks. The first one had some very challenging moments! I have been working on the airplane one all week! I am not usually one for meditation - my mind moves at a 100 miles per hour - but the meditation you conducted worked well for me. I never thought I could intentionally quiet my mind.”

  • COURSE TESTIMONIALS

“Personally, I felt that a number of questions I have had when doing other courses were answered in yours. I loved how you stated that the SNS was just as important as activating the PNS. I think this is such an important point that tends to get overlooked.”

  • COURSE TESTIMONIALS

“Over the years Kate has always challenged me to the degree that many of my prior physical challenges were overcome. During the time that Kate was providing this instruction I have developed a friendship that is based on a common passion for advancing my Pilates skills along with learning and discussion. Through her coaching style she facilitates friendships and camaraderie. She empowers individuals of all ages to be better and stronger physically. She carries a passion towards her clients’ success that is conducive to learning and development.”

“Just wanted to say thanks for an excellent weekend. I came away with a new appreciation for the Oov and how to use it more strategically; particularly with regard to using it for “assessment, correction, control and performance” with each client. I think it all came together for me yesterday with my femur experience!”
